Momentum

Momentum is a digital publication that explores the people and stories of Geelong. The contemporary magazine uses it’s reach to celebrate all that Geelong has to offer, and to inform it’s readers of the new, exciting and breathtaking events, personalities and places.  The brief asked for a modern and save visa style, that presented the information contained within its pages in a visually rich and engaging way.

The final logo design uses a serif typeface to give a modern, fun, expressive aesthetic. Paired with a soft and contemporary colour palette, contrasting secondary typeface and sleek pattern option, the final momentum brand accurately appeals to the ePub's target audience. The logo uses a mixture of italics and regular font styles to give a sense of motion, and the gradient colour application creates the sense of moving forward and change. Circular motifs have been inspired by Newton's swinging cradle and the physics of momentum, and are evident in the primary and secondary logos, and pattern designs.

The layout design, information architecture, interactivity and production of the Momentum ePub has been based on the typography, colours, logo elements and patterns that were creates as part of the branding design and strategy, and seamless work together to create a coherent and modern design.
